Frequently asked questions
Booking & Payments
What are the check-in and checkout times?
Check-in is from 3:00 pm on the day of arrival and checkout is by 10:00 am on the day of departure.
Sometimes we can arrange different times depending on bookings immediately before or after your stay. Please contact us if you would like to request an earlier check-in or later checkout.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our current cancellation and booking-change conditions are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible.
In some circumstances, by agreement, money from a cancelled booking may be converted to a gift certificate instead of being refunded. Any such credit remains linked to the property for which the original booking was made.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, gift certificates can be arranged on request.
Because Cabins Hunter Valley properties have different owners, a gift certificate must be issued for a specific property and can only be redeemed against a booking at that property.
Please contact us if you would like to arrange one.
How do I use my gift certificate?
A gift certificate is used as a payment method, not as a promo or voucher code.
When making your booking, continue through to the payment stage where you would normally enter your credit-card details and enter your gift-certificate details there.
Cabins Hunter Valley gift certificates are linked to the property for which they were issued and cannot be transferred to another property.
If your certificate is not accepted, please contact us and we can help.
Before You Arrive
What should I bring for my stay?
Bring your clothing, food and drinks, and any personal items you will need during your stay.
Linen and towels, basic guest amenities and some basic cooking supplies are provided.
Facilities and inclusions vary between properties, so please check the individual property page before your stay if something particular is important to you.
As this is a rural location, it is best to bring anything important with you rather than assuming it will be readily available nearby.
Do I need a 4WD to reach Eaglereach?
No. A 4WD is not required.
There is a short unsealed section of road near the bottom of the mountain, followed by sealed road to Eaglereach. Roads within Eaglereach are maintained gravel roads.
Normal passenger vehicles can access the properties.
Where are you located?
Cabins Hunter Valley properties are located at Eaglereach, near Vacy, NSW, in the Hunter region north of Maitland.
We are approximately two hours north of Hornsby by road, in a rural mountain setting.
Eaglereach is some distance from the main Hunter Valley wine region, so we recommend checking our location before booking if proximity to particular attractions or areas is important to you.
Once you have booked, we provide detailed arrival information directing you to the correct accommodation.
A 4WD is not required.
During Your Stay
Will I be sharing my accommodation?
No.
The accommodation you book is for the exclusive use of the guests included in your booking. It is not shared with another booking.
What should I do if I have a problem during my stay?
Please call or text us using the contact details supplied with your booking.
If something is wrong, let us know while you are staying so we have the opportunity to help or resolve the problem wherever possible.
Facilities & Policies
Is Wi-Fi available?
Most Cabins Hunter Valley properties have Wi-Fi, but not all.
Please check the individual property page before booking if Wi-Fi is important to you.
Where Wi-Fi is available, remember that this is a rural mountain location and speeds and reliability can vary. We do not recommend relying on it for uninterrupted streaming or other high-bandwidth use.
What is the mobile phone coverage like?
Telstra generally provides the strongest and most reliable mobile coverage in the area.
Optus and Vodafone coverage can be patchy or unreliable. Coverage can also vary around the mountain and inside the accommodation, so we recommend not relying on continuous mobile service during your stay.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not permitted at our properties.
Assistance animals are permitted where required by law. We may ask for reasonable supporting information confirming that an animal is an assistance animal and is appropriately trained for hygiene and behaviour.
Please let us know before arrival if you will be accompanied by an assistance animal.
Are children charged as guests?
Children over 2 years old are counted as paying guests.
Children under 2 are not charged when sharing existing bedding.
Some properties may not be suitable for children, so please check the individual property information or contact us before booking if children will be staying.
Do the lodges have fireplaces?
Yes. All current Cabins Hunter Valley properties have slow-combustion fireplaces.
Firewood is normally supplied during the cooler months.
During the warmer months, generally 1 October to 31 March, firewood is generally not supplied. Guests wishing to use the fireplace during this period may bring suitable firewood with them.
Outdoor fires are not permitted.
Does the accommodation have a spa?
Yes. All of our current properties have a private heated spa.
The exact setup varies between properties. Some spas are undercover while others are open to the weather.
Please check the individual property page or accommodation filters if a particular spa feature is important to you.
Are there security cameras?
Yes. Security cameras are used extensively at Cabins Hunter Valley properties and throughout parts of Eaglereach.
External areas such as driveways, vehicle-access areas and other common areas may be monitored. Guests should assume that external access to the properties may be recorded.
There are no cameras inside the accommodation or in private indoor guest areas.
